Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides both primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

When should your Child first see a Dentist and Why?

The Indian Dental Association (IDA) recommends that the ideal time for the child to see a dentist is at approximately one year of age. This is an ideal time for the dentist to carefully examine the development of your child’s mouth, because dental problems often start early, the sooner the visit the better.

Importance of Baby tooth

Your child’s baby teeth are important. Children need strong, healthy teeth to chew their food, speak and have a good-looking smile. Baby teeth also keep a space in the jaw for the adult teeth. If a baby tooth is lost too early, the teeth beside it may drift into the empty space. When it’s time for the adult teeth to come in, there may not be enough room. This can make the teeth crooked or crowded.
